Sam's BDay treats

Finally I am getting to posting about the great treats a friend and I made for her daughter's and my son's birthdays last weekend.  Here are pics of the skeleton brownies, brownie eyeballs and ghosts and the skull cake covered in fondant.  I am cooking tomorrow for Halloween treats to bring into work and have for the kids this weekend for Halloween.  I will post some pics over the weekend I hope.  Then it's time to start Thanksgiving ideas.  The 3D turkey cake pan should be arriving tomorrow!!!
Enjoy!!!

Chocolate house

Finally I got the chocoalte house done.  I originally wanted it to be a haunted house but it ended up just being a fall version.  I have made plenty for Christmas but never for any other time of the year.  McKeane wants to give one to her best friend for her BDay this weekend so we did it together.  It was a little rushed but looks pretty good!  See for yourself!

TGIF

I had a good day at work today.  The kids are with thier Dad so I took the night off from cooking, cleaning and being Mom.  After an early dinner and some errands I came home and made my favorite old fashioned hot fudge.  So here I sit enjoying a delicious sundae and watching Cake Boss.  I am trying to decide what to make tomorrow before work to share with everyone tomorrow afternoon and Sunday morning.  Decisions, decisions!  I am getting sleepy and have a busy weekend of work ahead of me.  I am still planning on making the haunted chocolate house, possibly Monday so keep watching for pics!
I have lots of great Halloween treats so if you're having a party or just want something special for the kids let me know!  Enjoy the weekend!

tonight's baking

While visiting my parents this afternoon, I mentioned making applesauce from all the apples we've picked.  My Dad mentioned having an applesauce cake with maple glaze on it while on one of his many visits to FL with Mom.  My Mom then showed me some great ghost shaped baking dishes she bought and offered them to me.  You guessed it..off to the kitchen I went.  I came home and made some delicious applesauce.  After dinner when it was cool I attempted a basic applesauce cake recipe and baked them in the ghost pans and covered them with maple glaze.  Here's the result.  They are very moist but I think I am going to tweek the spices to bring out the flavor a little more.  Enjoy the pics.  It's time for me to crash for the night!

Here I go...

Finally, after a lot of talk, I have this started!  As most of you know I love to cook and enjoy seeing the smiles it brings on all of your faces.  I started this blog in hopes of getting the word out about my wonderful treats in order to start selling them throughout the holidays.  In time I would love to get back into catering.  Please spread the word and the link to this blog.  I am taking lots of pictues, doing lots of baking, as my family and co-workers know..lol.  I am accused of wanting to make everyone at work fat! ;)  I hope to get more pics and some prices for my goodies up soon.   I will be making a haunted chocolate house hopefully this week!  Thanks to everyone, especially those who have been trying out and giving me feedback on new recipes I have been making!  ~Tracie :)
